Pricing a Room Addition
Q: What is the going price for two rooms added to your house with a master bath in one of the rooms?
A: That depends on many variables, including what part of the country you live in, how big the addition is, what kind of roof you already have and finally what products you want installed (type and quality of flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, hardware, countertops, doors and windows).
You need to have a detailed a plan and list of specifications, and collect bids. You can either start with an architect or building designer to draw the plans and come up with a specification list to give to general contractors to bid. Or you can start by talking to several general contractors, and then choose one to do the entire project.
Some ideas about size and quality of materials are necessary for a professional to give you even a rough per-square-foot ballpark figure.
I suggest you visit Home Advisor, decide whether to choose an architect, building designer or general contractor, fill out a service request, and be matched with the ideal service professional in your area.
