Choosing an Offsite Storage Facility
Whether you are a packrat or between residences, sometimes you have more possessions than you can keep with you. That is when off site storage comes to the rescue. Modern self storage facilities offer a variety of options. Usually open 12 hours a day, seven days a week (although closed on holidays) their security systems and on-site personnel mean your possessions are secure.
Modern storage facilities now use high technology to protect your possessions from the elements and theft. Many are fenced with chain link and barbed wire, well-lit with 24-hour security camera surveillance and alarms. Usually each unit is equipped with an individual sprinkler and alarm.
Computer controlled access is also common. When a client enters a code to enter the gate, it deactivates the alarm in their individual unit. Their alarm is reactivated when the client punches out upon leaving, so tenants cannot gain access to other units. On-site managers are also available for assistance and added security.
Storage facilities usually offer insurance and often offer move-in incentives and discounts on pre-pay or long term.
